AMRITSAR: Amritsar Municipal Corporation (AMC) is going to make an additional purchase of 10 hand-held fogging machines. The arrangements are being made to alleviate the spread of dengue in the city.
Karamjit Singh Rintu, Mayor, Amritsar, along with Malwinder Singh Jaggi, Commissioner, AMC, held a meeting on Friday, September 17, with municipal health officers to tackle the dengue menace. “We are making arrangements for cleaning and fogging the city streets and markets in order to curb the spread, but the responsibility of keeping clean surroundings lies with the residents,” Rintu said. AMC officials have been directed to take necessary steps for sanitation, he added. Besides the new additions, there are 16 fogging machines which are currently being used for daily fogging in wards of the city. Rintu also informed the officials to utilize their staff and machinery in order to make this exercise a big hit.
