After COVID-19 cases soar, Centre dashes teams to 5 states

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, on Friday, October 16, delegated teams to West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Kerala, which have been reporting a spurt in the number of new COVID-19 positive cases recently. The teams would help the states in solidifying containment, scrutiny, testing, infection prevention and control measures, and structured management of the positive cases. They will also help in a systemised management of the challenges related to speedy diagnosis and follow-up.

The ministry added that the team consists of a Joint Secretary, one public health expert to attend to the public health aspects, and one clinician to take care of the prevention practices and see if clinical management protocol is being followed by each of the five states.
