PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Wednesday, July 21, that 80 per cent of the people who are eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19 have been administered with one dose of the vaccine. He also added that the Government of Goa hopes that children in class 10 and 12 can begin attending physical classes from August 15. He also informed that he will write to the Government of India, requesting them to reduce the gap between the two COVID-19 vaccines for teachers in the state.
CM Sawant said that the state is moving towards the target of administering one dose of COVID-19 vaccine to all the people above the age of 18 by July 31. He added that the state has vaccinated 80 per cent of the population and almost 1 lakh people are left to be vaccinated with the first dose. CM said that the Department of Education, Government of Goa, has been directed to analyse the conditions and carefully decide when the schools can conduct physical classes safely.
