JAMMU: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) hosted the oath ceremony of 75 elected councillors in General Zorawar Singh Auditorium on October 30, 2018.
The newly elected corporators of the BJP, Congress, and Independents administered the oath of secrecy by Sanjeev Verma, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
The BJP, with 43 seats, emerged as the single-largest party with an absolute majority in the JMC but it is yet to declare its Mayor and Deputy Mayor. The Congress secured only 14 seats. The Independents won 18 seats and have emerged as a major opposition to the BJP in the municipality.
