NEW DELHI: As the country’s COVID positive cases reach the mark of 43 lakhs, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India, said that 60 per cent of positive coronavirus cases are from just five states. These are Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh, in the order of current cases.
India has recorded almost 90,000 cases in one day. Maharashtra is the worst hit, adding almost 20,000 cases in the last 24 hours to the country’s total tally. This is the second time when the state has crossed the 20,000 mark. Andhra Pradesh is the second in order with almost 10,000 cases.
In the past 24 hours, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh have added around 7000, 7800 and around 5500 COVID positive cases, respectively.
